This petition has been filed to enlarge the petitioner on bail in CC No. 419 of 2022 on the file of the Principal Special Court for NDPS Act, Chennai.
2. The case of the prosecution is that on 14.03.2022, based on the secret information the respondent police went to the scene of occurrence i.e., No. 269, 2nd Floor, Karur Vysya Bank, MKN Road, St. Thomas Mount. At that time, the accused persons illegally selling the drugs and respondent police conducted search on the accused and found 116 grams of Methamphetamine. Hence, the case.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has falsely implicated in this case and also he is languishing in jail for the past 2 1/2 years. Hence, he prays to allow this petition.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) submits that 116 grams of methaphetamine was seized from the accused persons which is commercial quantity. Hence, he raised objection to grant bail.
5. Considering the fact that the contraband seized from the petitioner is commercial quantity. Hence, this Court is not inclined to allow this petition. However, the Trial Court is directed to complete the Trial as expeditiously as possible. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed. 18.07.2024 pbl
