Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 21.06.2023 as per the provisions at the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood Regulations) Act, 2014, made for granting permission/certificate of vending and till such time 1/4

not to disturb with the running of the petitioner's Bunk Shop which running at Jai Nagar Park, Arumbakkam (Ward No.127; Zone No.10), Chennai 600 106 wherein selling food items at morning, afternoon and night time by using LPG Gas Stove.

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.06.2023 and pass final orders.

2. According to the petitioner, he is running Bunk Shop at Jai Nagar Park, Arumbakkam (Ward No.127, Zone No.10), Chennai 600 106, and the petitioner is depending on the income from the Bunk Shop to meet his day to day expenses.

It is also stated by the petitioner that she is a disabled person having disability of 40%, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents 1 & 2 on 21.06.2023 for permission and for running the shop in the light of the provisions of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood Regulations) Act, 2014.

4. Mrs.P.T.Ramadevi, learned Standing Counsel (GCC) takes notice for the respondents.

5. The main grievance of the petitioner is that her representation in this regard dated 21.06.2023 has not been considered by the respondents.

6. In view of the limited prayer made in this Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.06.2033 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/4
