When the matter is taken up for the hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that this Writ Petition has been filed seeking promotion from the post of Sub-Inspector of Police to the post of Inspector of Police. During the pendency of this Writ Petition itself, the petitioner is promoted and as such nothing survives for further adjudication in this Writ Petition and requested to dismiss this Writ Page No: 2/5

petition as infructuous.

2. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
