Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to settle a sum of Rs.1,48,920/- to the petitioner herein towards 6% interest for the belated settlement of Terminal Benefits of Rs.17,51,993/- by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 04.09.2019. For Petitioner : Mr.D.Soundar Raj For Respondent : Mr.K.Kathiresan Standing Counsel

ORDER

Mr.K.Kathiresan, learned standing counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent and submits that appropriate orders will be passed by the respondent on the representation dated 04.09.2019 of the petitioner.

2. Recording the same, this writ petition is disposed by directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. In case the petitioner is entitled to any of the amounts as has been represented by the petitioner, the respondent is directed to pay the same together with interest at the rate of 4% per annum other than Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity (DCRG) to the petitioner within the aforesaid period. As far as the DCRG is concerned, the respondent shall pay the statutory rate of interest within the aforesaid period.

4. This Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
