PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to dispose of the petitioner representation dated 24.03.2025 to carry out UDR corrections for the lands in Survey No.436/2 & 436/7 of an extent of 0.32 & 0.71 acre situated at Mittanoolahalli Village, Nallampalli Taluk, Dharmapuri District, within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court. 1/6

ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to respondent Nos.5 & 6 is dispensed with.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the second respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 24.03.2025 to carry out UDR corrections for the lands comprised in Survey Nos.436/2 & 436/7 measuring an extent of 0.32 & 0.71 acre situated at Mittanoolahalli Village, Nallampalli Taluk, Dharmapuri District, within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner purchased the subject property vide sale deed Doc No.1485/1980, registered at SRO, Dharmapuri. Ever since the date of purchase, the petitioner 2/6
has been in possession and enjoyment of the subject property. During the UDR updation, the patta has been mutated in the names of respondent Nos.5 and 6 (legal heirs of the vendor), in respect of the subject property. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 24.03.2025 before the first respondent seeking to carry out UDR correction in the revenue records in respect of the subject property. However, the said representation has not been considered so far by the first respondent. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

Learned Special Government Pleader for respondent Nos.1 to 4 would submit that the petitioner submitted the representation dated 24.03.2025 before the first respondent although it is the District Revenue Officer, who is the appropriate authority. In any view, the above representation would be forwarded to the DRO, the second respondent herein and the second respondent would consider the said representation and pass orders, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for the petitioner.
5. Learned counsel for the petitioner seeks to submit an independent representation before the second respondent to carry out UDR correction in the revenue records in respect of the subject property, which was agreed to by the 3/6
learned counsel for the respondents.

In view thereof, it is open to the petitioner to submit an independent representation before the second respondent seeking to carry out UDR correction in the revenue records in respect of the subject property. The second respondent shall consider if any such representation is made by the petitioner or in case representation dated 24.03.2025 is forwarded by the first respondent, on merits, and pass orders, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of uploading of the web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy, in accordance in law, if it is otherwise in order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case, the concerned respondent shall consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law.
7. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
