Sub A.No.509 of 2023 IN Cont.P.D.No.73655 of 2023 R. MAHADEVAN, J.

This application has been filed by the petitioner/elder son of the writ petitioner to grant leave to file the above contempt petition for the alleged disobedience of the order of this court dated 20.10.2021 passed in W.P.No.20546 of 2021.

2. The learned counsel for the applicant submitted that this court, by order dated 20.10.2021, while disposing of the writ petition, has directed the Revenue Divisional Officer, Ranipet District, to consider the representation dated 08.09.2021 of the writ petitioner and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks. Pursuant to the same, the writ petitioner appeared in person before the Revenue Divisional Officer and gave evidence on 23.07.2022. While so, the writ petitioner died on 01.05.2023. Since the other legal heirs of the writ petitioner i.e., two sisters are not inclined to join the applicant, the applicant alone has filed this petition seeking leave of this Court to file the contempt petition.

3. Considering the reasons stated in the affidavit filed in support of this petition and being satisfied with the same, this Court is inclined to grant leave to the petitioner to file this contempt petition. Accordingly, this petition is ordered as prayed for.
