Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the first respondent to transfer the investigation to third respondent or any other agencies in this Crime No.2 of District EOW Police Station, Thiruvannamalai District.

ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking for transfer of investigation in Crime No.2 of 2022 pending on the file of the third respondent to any other investigation agency.

2. When the matter came up for hearing on 13.07.2023, this Court passed the following order:

"Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice for respondents.

2. The third respondent is directed to file a status report in the case explaining the stage of investigation. If the accused person is absconding, immediate steps shall be taken to secure the accused person and effectively complete the investigation. Post this case on 03.08.2023."

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the status report has been filed by the third respondent. The status report explains the various steps Page No.2/4

that have been taken by the third respondent during the course of investigation. As an important development, the accused person, who was absconding has now been secured, arrested and he has been remanded to judicial custody on 29.07.2023. The third respondent has also undertaken that he will complete the investigation at the earliest and file the final report before the concerned jurisdictional Court.

4. In view of the same, this criminal original petition is disposed of. The third respondent is directed to complete the investigation and to file final report before the concerned jurisdictional Court within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
