PETITIONS under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of Writs of Mandamus directing the second respondent to receive the applications of the petitioners dated 27.4.2016 in Form CCPA and the prescribed fee for the grant of auto rickshaw permit and to consider the same. For Petitioner in all the WPs :Mr.S.Govindaraman For Respondents in all the WPs:Mr.R.Lakshminarayanan, Addl.Govt.Pleader COMMON ORDER Mr.R.Lakshminarayanan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. Heard both. By consent, the writ petitions are taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioners seek a direction to the second respondent to receive their applications for the grant of auto rickshaw https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
permit together with prescribed fee and to consider the same.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that there is a need for more auto rickshaws on account of the fact that several existing permit holders have stopped their operations and surrendered their permits.
4. In any event, as the petitioners' applications have not been received by the second respondent, without going into the merits of the cases as projected by the petitioners, the writ petitions are disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to receive the petitioners' applications dated 27.4.2016, consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
