The petitioner has filed this petition seeking for a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to pay him the retirement benefits such as Social Welfare Fund, Earned Leave Benefit and the IRTT Refund with interest at the rate of 6% per annum.

The petitioner entered the service on 06.06.1980 in the respondent Corporation. He was promoted as Senior Checking Inspector on 05.02.2010 and then promoted to various cadres and lastly retired on 30.06.2015 as Traffic Manager.

On 19.11.2015, the respondent had paid a sum of Rs.2,27,533/- towards Provident Fund, Rs.1,64,375/- towards Earned Leave Salary and Rs.3,46,760- towards commutation to the petitioner. But he was not paid the Social Welfare Fund of Rs.75,000/-, Earned Leave benefit of Rs.31,123/-, and IRTT Fund of Rs.4,360/- which forms part of the retirement benefits. Hence, the petitioner made representation on 28.09.2020 requesting the respondent to disburse the said amounts. But no action has been taken by the respondent so far.

Hence, this Writ Petition is disposed and the respondent is directed to pay the petitioner the retirement benefits such as Social Welfare Fund, Earned Leave Benefit and the IRTT Refund with interest at the rate of 4% per annum. No costs.
