ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the fourth respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioners seeking issuance of fresh notification to fill up the unfilled posts of Superintendent through direct recruitment.

The petitioners are working as Junior Assistant cum Computer Operator in the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University for the past seven years. They are also qualified with PG degree and they are eligible to be promoted to the post of Superintendent. While being so, the first respondent issued GO.Ms.No.21 Higher Education (K2) Department dated 10.02.2015 thereby declared 10 Superintendent posts and various posts were vacant. Thereafter, notification was issued calling for applications to fill up 9 posts of Superintendent in the Tamilnadu 2/6

Teachers Education University, Karapakkam, Chennai. However, the said notification was not acted upon so far and no posts have been filled up as per the notification. Therefore, the petitioners submitted representation requesting the first respondent to issue notification to fill up the vacancies in the post of Superintendent by direct recruitment. 3.

On perusal of the statutes for the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, revealed as follows:

direct recruitment. In case of Junior Assistant, if completed five years of service, they are also eligible to be promoted to the post of Superintendent.

In view of the above, the fourth respondent is directed to take appropriate steps to fill up the vacancies to the post of Superintendent in the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Karapakkam, Chennai as per the statutes by issuance of fresh notification, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
