ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) As against the specific allegation of encroachment on the irrigation canal, learned counsel for respondent Nos.1 to 3, on advance instruction, would submit that the respondent authorities have already taken cognizance of the same and notices have been issued to private respondents herein. Copies of the notices have also been placed for our ready perusal.

2. At this stage, we are not inclined to keep this matter pending, because it is not a case where the respondents authorities have not undertaken any action. In fact, they have initiated proceedings under the provisions of law. We hope and expect that these proceedings shall be brought to its logical conclusion one way or the other, by strictly following the procedure contemplated under law and within a reasonable period. If a final decision is not taken within a period of three months, the petitioner would be at liberty to approach this court again.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
