Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to appoint the petitioner in the post of Assistant Director of Rural Development Department in the GT(W)(DA) vacancy, notified in the Recruitment Notification No.01/2019 dated 01.01.2019. For Petitioner : Mr.Mani Sundargopal For Respondent : Mr.V.Govardhan

ORDER

By an order dated 28.09.2021, Status-quo was ordered.

2. The petitioner had approached this Court apprehending that the petitioner may not be called for an interview. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has now received an interview letter dated 28.09.2021 on 29.09.2021. He further submits that the status quo ordered is operating against the petitioner as the respondent will not interview the petitioner .

3. It is further submitted that the petitioner will be satisfied if a clarification is issued to the effect that the 'status-quo' ordered on 28.09.2021 will not come in the way of the petitioner being interviewed, selected and appointed as Assistant Director of Rural Development Department, if found eligible.

Since the petitioner has already been called for an interview vide letter dated 28.09.2021 of the respondent, this writ petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to participate in the proposed interview to be held on 20.10.2021. It is made clear that the respondent may interview the petitioner on 20.10.2021 or on any other date they may propose to hold. If the petitioner is otherwise found eligible to be appointed, the petitioner may be appointed to the aforesaid post. Needless to state it is open to the petitioner to workout her remedy if a situation demands at a later point of time.

5. This Writ Petition is closed with the above observation. No costs.
