The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 24.05.2024, in Crime No.98 of 2024, registered for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 419, 420 of IPC and Section 66-C, 66-D of Informaion Technology Amendment Act, 2008, seeks bail.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case, as if he along with other accused cheated the defacto complainant by obtaining the bank account details, which he availed loan to the tune of Rs.15,54,101/- and swindled the money. He further submitted that the petitioner is suffering incarceration from 24.05.2024 and he is ready to abide any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the petitioner.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner along with other accused called the defacto complainant, pretending to be from Fedex Courier and Cyber Crime, Mumbai and threatened the defacto

complainant by saying that she was involved in money laundering and had T.V.THAMILSELVI, J.

drl obtained bank details, debit card information, and taken a loan in her name from ICICI Bank to the tune of Rs.15,54,101/- and swindled the money. He further submitted that the petitioner has also conspired with the other accused and actively participated in the offence. He further that the amount has not been recovered. He further submitted that the investigation is at the initial stage and if the petitioner is released on bail, he may tamper with the witnesses. Hence, strongly opposed for granting bail to the petitioner.

4. Considering the gravity of the offence and the manner of offence committed and the submission made by the learned counsel on either side and also considering the fact that the investigation is at initial stage, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
