By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to 1/4
direct the respondent to consider the representation dated 09.06.2025 for issuance of Kovalam Natham patta in respect of the property comprised in Old Survey No.50/1B1 A1, New Survey No.93/18 in Patta No.721 measuring an extent of 831 sq.ft or 8988 sq.feet. It is stated that petitioner's father was originally in possession of the property. It is further stated that petitioner's father had executed a settlement deed in favour of the petitioner and the same was registered as Document No.4136 of 2025 in the office of the SRO, Thiruporur. Petitioner thereafter submitted a representation dated 24.02.2025 for transfer of patta in his name, however the same has not been considered till date. Hence this writ petition.

At the outset, Mr.Mohammed Sadhik, learned Government Advocate for respondent would submit that the petitioner's representation seeking transfer of patta in favour of petitioner, would be considered and orders would be passed in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.
4. In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the representation dated 09.06.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law after affording reasonable opportunity 2/4
of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested party. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the matter and it is open to the respondent to consider the application on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
