By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.04.2025 to issue patta by virtue of priority category under Ex-serviceman vide provisions of the Revenue Board Standing Orders 15(24) for the property comprised in Survey No.95/2 measuring an extent of 1 acre 76 cents situated at 'A' Pallipatti Revenue Village, Pappireddipatti Taluk, Dharmapuri District.
3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner's father occupied the subject property and enjoyed the same for more than 25 years. The subject property is a Government Poromboke land. After demise of petitioner's father, petitioner an ex-serviceman submitted a representation dated 07.04.2025 seeking issuance of patta in his name by virtue of priority category under Exserviceman vide provisions of the Revenue Board Standing Orders 15(24), in respect of the subject property. The first respondent directed the second respondent to consider the said representation. However, the said representation has not been considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ 2/5
petition.

It was submitted by the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents that the subject property has been classified as temple land and therefore, the petitioner may not be entitled for issuance of patta. In any view, it was submitted that the representation dated 07.04.2025 made by petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed, after hearing the petitioner, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.

In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the second respondent, to consider the representation dated 07.04.2025 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, temple authorities and any other interested parties including rival claimants, if any, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of uploading of the web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the representation and it is open to the concerned 3/5
respondent to consider the representation on its own merits and in accordance with law.
6. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
