O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to receive the loan amount that is due and payable towards jewel loan and to return the jewels to the petitioner, which were given as security.

2. Heard Mr.J.William Shakesphere, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.R.Sreedhar, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents.

3. The petitioner has availed three jewel loans in the year 2023 and had pledged gold jewels. Apart from that, the petitioner's daughter and son have also availed educational loan from the second respondent. The further case of the petitioner is that the educational loan of both the daughter and son has been settled. The petitioner also wanted to repay the entire jewel loan and wanted to redeem the jewels. The petitioner also wanted the respondent bank to return the documents that were given as security to the second respondent while availing the educational loan. A 2/4

representation was made to the first respondent in this regard. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to deal with the petitioner's representation dated 23.05.2025 on its own merits and in accordance with law. If the first respondent wants to get any clarification from the petitioner, he can call the petitioner for enquiry and he can be asked to produce necessary documents and a decision shall be taken on the petitioner's representation within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
