Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to remove the third respondent from the post of President of Selekkarichal Panchayat and also to take appropriate action against the fourth respondent by considering the petitioners representation dated 14.06.2023 by considering the petitioners representation dated 14.06.2023 within a period of time that will be fixed by this Court.

The petitioners seek a direction to the second respondent to remove the third respondent from the post of President of Selekkarichal Panchayat, based on the representation submitted by the petitioners on 14.06.2023.

2. According to the petitioners, they are elected Ward Members of Selakkarichal Panchayat, Sulthanpet Union, Coimbatore District. The petitioners made certain allegations against the President of the said Panchayat. The petitioners submitted a representation to the second respondent on 14.06.2023 and sought for action in accordance with law against the President. Though certain allegations are made against the President of Panchayat by the members, it has not been considered in accordance with law by the second respondent who is the Inspector of Panchayat.

3. In view of the limited prayer made in this Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 14.06.2023 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
