The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent Police for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(B) and 29(1) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 in Crime No.239 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.The case of the prosecution is that on receipt of secret information, on 03.06.2025, the Police team attached to the respondent Police had gone near Chinnanerkundram Kulakarai where the accused named in the FIR were standing. When the Police intercepted and enquired the accused, they were in possession of 1.200 kgs of ganja. Hence, the complaint. 3.The learned counsel for petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has nothing to do with the alleged offence. He further submits that based on the confession of co-accused the petitioner is arrayed as accused.

4.Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent Police submitted that the petitioner is arrayed as A8 and he has got one previous case of similar in nature.

6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the petitioner has one previous case of similar in nature, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 7.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 27.06.2025 vv2 To 1.The Inspector of Police, Maraimalainagar Police Station, Chengalpattu District.
