ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent to fix compensation for lands acquired from petitioners as per The right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013 (Act 30/2013 ) based on the representations of petitioners dated 14.11.2024, followed by reminders dated 04.04.2025 11.04.2025 and 29.04.2025 2/6

2. Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 & 2.

3. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, initially, a notification was issued for acquiring the petitioner's land on 07.04.2020. Subsequently, a representation dated 14.11.2024 was made by the petitioner before the respondents 1 & 2 for fixation of compensation. Thereafter, by virtue of notice dated 20.01.2025, enquiry was conducted, however, no compensation was fixed till date. Hence, this petition.

5. In reply, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents requests this Court to grant 8 weeks time to consider the petitioner's representation and fix the compensation. 3/6

6. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and also perused the entire materials available on record.

In the case on hand, vide Notification dated 07.04.2020, the petitioner's land was acquired as per The right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013 (Act 30/2013). Hence, a representation dated 14.11.2024 was made by the petitioner before the 1st respondent. Thereafter, by virtue of notice dated 20.01.2025, enquiry was conducted, however, no compensation was fixed till date.

8. In view of the above, this Court directs the 1st respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation and fix the compensation within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

9. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No cost.
