..Respondent in both W.P's Prayer : These writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records of the respondent in his impugned orders dated 30.06.2007 and 11.01.2008 respectively, rejecting the petitioner's request to detach them from their Development Officer Mr.A.S.Kumaran C.B.O XV, Chennai Division, LIC of India, Kodambakkam, Chennai-24, to treat them as Direct Agents under the Life Insurance Corporation of India and quash the same and direct the respondent to detach them from the said Development officer and treat them as Direct Agents to the LIC.

ORDER

The petitioners pray to issue a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records of the respondent in his impugned order dated 30.06.2007 and 11.01.2008 rejecting the petitioner's request to detach them from their Development Officer Mr.A.S.Kumaran C.B.O XV, Chennai Division, LIC of India, Kodambakkam, Chennai-24, to treat them as Direct Agents under the Life Insurance Corporation of India and quash the same and direct the respondent to detach them from the said Development officer and treat them as Direct Agents to the LIC.

2.The above writ petitions have been filed by the agents working under L.I.C. Branch located at Kodambakkam, seeking detachment from their Development Officer namely one Mr.A.SKumaresan. The learned counsel for the petitioner brought to the kind attention of this Court, the letter dated 13.06.2018, issued by the LIC, wherein it is stated that the said Development Officer namely Mr.A.S.Kumaresan, was retired from the service of the Life Insurance Corporation during June 2015, and at present the petitioners are treated as direct agents in the said Corporation. Hence under these circumstances, the learned counsel for the respondent would submit that the petitions have become Infructuous.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioners seeks permission of this Court to withdraw both the writ petitions and he had also made an endorsement in the bundles to that effect.

4. In view of the above submissions and endorsement made by the learned counsel for the petitioner in both the writ petitions, both the writ petitions are dismissed as withdrawn. No costs. 13.06.2018 smn Index : Yes/No Internet: Yes/No To.
