ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., seeking direction for speedy investigation of Crime No.08/2021/AC/CC-I.

According to the petitioner, while she was serving as Special Public Prosecutor in Mahila Court, Thiruvallur, a frivolous complaint was forwarded to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption by one Selvi alleging that she has demanded Rs.50,000/- as reward to conduct the criminal case and already received Rs.10,000/- in two instalments. Based on the frivolous complaint, a case has been registered in Crime No.08 of 2021 on 11.10.2021, but till date, they are not filed final report. Eventhough the investigation has come out with no incriminating material against her, fit for taking cognizance and prosecute to motivate the complaint with false allegations was generated to defame her and by not filing the final report, she suffers the disgrace in the eye of public. Therefore, seeks direction to expedite the investigation. 2/4

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the State submits that after conducting preliminary enquiry, a case was registered and the statement of seven witnesses sofar recorded and seeks two months time to complete the investigation and file final report. 4.

Considering the request as well as the gravity of the allegations made against the petitioner, the respondent police is directed to complete the investigation and file the final report on or before 15.09.2023.

With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly.
