ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by Dr.Anita Sumanth J.) The prayer is for a mandamus for consideration of the petitioner's representation dated 19.04.2026, that has admittedly, been received by the authorities.

2. The proper authority to consider such a request would be the Director General of Police, who has not been arrayed as a respondent. However, Mr.C.R.Malarvannan, learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) assures us that the representation will be made available to the Director General of Prisons for his consideration, forthwith.

3. We hence direct the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services (DGP), No.6, Annai EVR Maniammaiyar Salai, Egmore, Chennai - 600 008, to pass necessary orders on the representation dated 19.04.2026 within a period of three (3) weeks from today, in accordance with the extant Rules.

4. Mandamus stands achieved and with this, this writ petition stands disposed. No costs.
