Respondent Prayer:- This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorari calling for the records in respect of the Award dated 16.05.2019 passed in I.D.No.118 of 2014 by the Principal Labour Court, Chennai and quash the same.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed, challenging the Award dated 16.05.2019 passed in I.D.No.118 of 2014 by the Principal Labour Court, Chennai, by which, the Workman was ordered to be reinstated with back wages, continuity of service and all other attendant benefits.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing Mr.Radhakrishnan, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the Management and the Workman have entered into a settlement under Section 18(1) of the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947 and after adjusting the wages under Section 17(B), the amount requested by the workman has been paid by the Management, which has been accepted as full and final settlement between the parties and has no claim whatsoever in the subject matter of the dispute.

3. In view of the above submission, the Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the Management to forward a copy of the settlement entered into between the parties under Section 18(1) of the Industrial Dispute Act 1947 to the Appropriate Authority. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
