O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioners/Depositors to direct the 4th respondent to conduct proper investigation by enquiring the petitioners based on their complaint dated 09.12.2024 pertaining to Crime No.59 of 2023 originally registered by the 2nd respondent for the offences under Section 120B, 406, 420, 506(2) of IPC, Section 5 of Tamil Nadu Protection of Interest of Depositors (In Financial Establishment Act) and Section 21(3) of the Banning of Unregulated Deposit Schemes Act, 2019 and to file final report within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the case was originally registered in Crime No.59 of 2023 by the 2nd respondent/City Crime Branch, Coimbatore and subsequently, transfered to the 4th respondent/Economic Offences Wing, Coimbatore since the offence under the TNPID Act is involved and there 2/5

are huge number of depositors. He further submitted that so far, 20 complaints have been received. Therefore, they are unable to complete the investigation and he seeks further time.

3. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

4. Considering the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), the 4th respondent police is directed to expedite the investigation and file the charge sheet as early as possible.

5. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
