ORDER
(Order of the Court was delivered by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.) Challenge is to the memorandum issued by the Under Secretary to Government, (Housing), Puducherry dated 30.05.2025, in and by which, the petitioner was granted time to vacate the official quarters occupied by him till 31.05.2025.
2. The petitioner, who was serving as a Head Sheristadar in Judicial Department at Puducherry was found guilty of certain delinquencies viz., un-authorized retention of valuable case properties. After enquiry he was dismissed from service on 30.04.2025, the date on which he attained the age of superannuation. Therefore, the petitioner cannot seek extension of time 2/5
to vacate the official quarters beyond the time originally granted.
3. However, taking a lenient view and considering the fact that the petitioner has been incarcerated, he is granted time to vacate till 31st July 2025. In the event of failure to vacate by the said date, the Government of Puducherry will take appropriate action to evict him from the official quarters.
4. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
