This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to desist from harassing the petitioner in connection with a civil dispute with one T.Ranganathan and others.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate submitted that on the complaint given by one T. Ranganathan against the petitioner, petition enquiry is pending in CSR.No.175 of 2018 on the file of the 2nd respondent police.

4.In such view of the matter, the petitioner is directed to cooperate with the police for enquiry and at the time of conducting enquiry, the petitioner shall not be harassed. During the course of enquiry, if any cognizable offence is made out, the respondent police is free to register an FIR and this order shall not be a shield for the petitioner against arrest.
