Prayer: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. praying to direct the Hon'ble District and Sessions Court, Nagapattinam to consider the bail applications of the petitioners sympathetically on very same day in event of their surrender before the concern court in Crime No.895 of 2020 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Velankanni Police Station, Nagapattinam District.

ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been laid by the petitioners seeking direction to the District and Sessions Court, Nagapattinam, to consider the bail application of the petitioners on the same day of their surrender in Crime No.895 of 2020 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Velankanni
Police Station, Nagapattinam District.
2. The petitioners are arrayed as accused in crime No.895 of 2020 for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 324, 506(ii) of IPC r/w Section 3(1)(r) & 3(1)(S) of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Now according to the petitioners, they have not committed the offences put forth against them. Further it is put forth that since there is a specific bar in preferring the Anticipatory Bail application as per Section 18 of SC/ST Act, according the petitioners, they have come forward with the present Criminal Original Petition.
3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in the interest of justice, I deem it fit to issue the following directions.
(i) The petitioners shall surrender before the District and Sessions Court, Nagapattinam, within 10 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
(ii) On the petitioners surrendering before the District and Sessions Court, Nagapattinam, and filing the bail application, the District and Sessions Court, Nagapattinam, is directed to consider and dispose of the bail application as expeditiously as possible, preferably on the date of their surrender in accordance with law.
4. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
