Prayer in W.P.No.21063 of 2021: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 3 to process the petitioner application and provide electricity service connection to the petitioner's property situated at Survey No.268/1, No.71, Sengodachinnahalli Village, Denkanikottai Taluk, Krishnagiri.
For Petitioners (in all WPs) : M/s.Labrar MD Abdullah For Respondents (in all WPs) : Mr.S.Madhusudanan Standing Counsel ***** COMMON ORDER Since the issue involved in these writ petitions is one and the same, with the consent of the learned counsel appearing for both sides, these writ petitions were heard together and disposed of by this common order.
2. The case of the petitioners is that, the petitioners are in occupation of the lands, which belongs to the Government, in which, they have constructed houses and doing agricultural activities in the said lands. While so, they made applications before the respondents seeking 2/5
agricultural service connection to their lands along with all necessary documents. Though the petitioners have submitted indemnity bond (Form-3) along with their applications, however, till date, their applications were not processed by the respondents. Hence, the above Writ Petitions are filed before this Court for appropriate directions.
3. Though very many grounds have been raised in these writ petitions, the learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to process the petitioners' respective applications and provide electricity service connection to their lands as expeditiously as possible.
4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submits that, petitioners' applications will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed after conducting appropriate enquiry, within a time period that may be stipulated by this Court.
5. In view of the aforesaid submissions, this Court, with going into the merits of the case, directs the third respondent to consider the 3/5
petitioners' respective applications on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after conducting detailed enquiry by providing an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioners and aggrieved persons, if any.
6. With the above directions, these writ petitions are disposed of. No Costs.
