By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2.The petitioner's grievance is that he had requested the respondent Bank to close all his Fixed deposits and credit the amount lying in the fixed deposits to the account of one D.Gangadevi, who also has an account with the respondent Bank.
3.Learned counsel for the respondent on instructions informs the court that since the petitioner is a senior citizen and one who affixes only thumb impression and since the amounts are sought to be credited to the savings bank account of someone who is not his lineal descendant, the bank is apprehensive about the idea. The learned counsel submitted most of the eight fixed deposits are now matured .
4.Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the bank may credit the entire amount standing in his fixed deposits in his account No.416481342. 2/4
5.In view of the statement made by the petitioner's counsel, the respondent is now required to credit all the amounts covered by those fixed deposits that are matured to the savings bank account of the petitioner bearing No.416481342 and also close other pre-matured fixed deposits and required to follow the same course.
