Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent herein to consider the petitioners representation dated 6.3.2016 for grant of patta in respect of the land of an extent of 864 Square feet in Plot No.10, comprising in Survey No.30, No.16/10, K.P.S. Nagar, First Street, Ayyapakkam, Thiruverkadu, Thiruvallur District.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner claims to have purchased plot no.10 in Survey No.30, No.16/10, K.P.S.Nagar, First Street, Ayyapakkam, Thiruverkadu, Thiruvallur District through a registered sale deed bearing document no.5124/1999 dated 03.11.1999 and also put up a superstructure and claims to be in possession and enjoyment of the property. The petitioner had approached the second respondent for issuance of patta through a representation dated 06.03.2016 and since no response is forthcoming, came forward to file this writ petition.

3.Heard the submissions of Mr.P.Pandiyaraj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.S.Ramesh, learned Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 06.03.2016, on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders, within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
