Respondents Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus calling for the records relating to the detention order in Memo D.O.No.03/2021-C2 dated 21.01.2021 passed by the second respondent under the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 and set aside the same and direct the respondent to produce the petitioner's son Giri s/o.Kuppan, aged about 31 years, the detenu, who is confined at Central Prison, Vellore District, before this Court and set him at liberty.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] The petitioner is the mother of the detenu viz., Giri s/o.Kuppan, aged about 31 years. The detenu has been detained by the second respondent by his order in D.O.No.03/2021-C2 dated 21.01.2021, holding him to be a "Goonda", as contemplated under Section 2(f) of Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. The said order is under challenge in this Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State.

3. The detention order in this case was passed on 21.01.2021. Since one year has lapsed, this petition has become infructuous.
