Respondents Prayer: The Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 20.05.2014 with in stipulated period fixed by this Honourable Court.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. Heard Mr.K.Manikandan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Vijayakumar, learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

3. The case of the petitioner is that aggrieved over by the order passed by the second respondent dated 20.03.2014, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the first respondent on 20.05.2014. Since the appeal is not yet disposed of, the opportunity of the petitioner for getting promotion would be lost. Hence, the present writ petition.

4. This Court, considering the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner dated 20.05.2014 and pass appropriate order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
