Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to expedite the disposal of the petitioner's complaint dated 20.04.2024 against the fourth respondent.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) Mr.C.K.Chandrasekkar, the learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3.

The limited relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to expedite the disposal of the petitioner's complaint dated 20.04.2024.

It is needless to state that the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on receipt of complaint is expected to expedite the enquiry Page No.2 of 5

without causing any undue delay. The complainants are approaching Bar Council with a fond hope that their complaints will be addressed in an appropriate manner. It is a statutory obligation on the part of the Bar Council to ensure that the complaints are inquired into properly and a decision is taken on merits and by affording opportunity to the parties. 4.

In the present case, the petitioner submitted complaint against the 4th respondent. Therefore, the Bar Council has to give opportunity to the parties, conduct an enquiry and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. The said exercise is directed to be completed within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. [S.M.S., J.] [C.K., J.] 01.08.2024 Index :
