Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 01.08.2014 to issue patta respect of the petitioner's property viz., plot no.36 in survey no.120/12B and 12C measuring 1815 sq.ft. in Nandavanam layout, Polivakkam Village, Tiruvallur Taluk by fixing a time limit.

2.The petitioner claims to have purchased the plot no.36 in survey no. 120/12B and 12C (part) admeasuring to an extent of 1815 sq.ft. in Nandavanam layout, Polivakkam Village, Tiruvallur Taluk through registered sale deed bearing document no.2180/99 dated 15.07.1999. The petitioner would further state that on 01.08.2014, she has approached the respondent by way of application for issuance of patta, enclosing all documents and also by paying the prescribed fees and since no response is forthcoming, is constrained to approach this Court by filing this writ petition.

4.It is unfortunate that the application for issuance of patta is kept pending for nearly two years without any disposal. This Court in the light of the above facts and circumstances, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application/representation dated 01.08.2014, in accordance with law and pass orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. 5.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
