By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the stage of admission itself.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations, dated 03.03.2015, 12.01.2016, 11.02.2016 and 26.02.2016, seeking promotion to the post of Foreman Grade-II, within a time frame.

3. The petitioner joined the 1st respondent as Helper Trainee on 02.02.2011 and posted to work in Protection and

Communication Circle in Chennai. His services were regularised as Field Assistant on 02.02.2013. The grievance of the petitioner is that in the panel drawn for promotion by the 2nd respondent, during August, 2013, for the post of Instrument Mechanic III Grade, though, he was fully qualified, his name was not included. The petitioner has made representations to the 2nd respondent on 03.03.2015, 12.01.2016, 11.02.2016 and 26.02.2016, seeking promotion to the post of Foreman Grade-II. But, the said representations were not disposed of till date and the same are till date pending. Hence, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking the relief stated supra.

4. Mr.K.M.Ramesh, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied, if the 2nd respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representations made by the petitioner on 03.03.2015, 12.01.2016, 11.02.2016 and 26.02.2016, within a time frame.

5. Mrs.R.Varalakshmi, the learned Standing Counsel, who took notice on behalf of the respondents, would submit that she has no objection in directing the 2nd respondent to consider and dispose of the representations of the petitioner, on merits and in accordance with law.

6.Considering the limited scope of the prayer, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner, dated 03.03.2015, 12.01.2016, 11.02.2016 and 26.02.2016, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner.
