O R D E R
This Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed by the petitioner to quash the impugned order in Na.Ka.No.334/KLK/2025 dated 29.05.2025 and consequently direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to hold Ariviyal Vilakka Perani-Pothukootam procession from Ambedkar Statue, Kutchery Road, Kallakurichi via Kachirayapalayam Road, Gandhi Road and to conduct a meeting at Periyar Thidal, Mandaveli on 21.06.2025.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the respondents police are permitting the other political parties to conduct procession, however, without any valid reason, they refused to grant permission to the petitioner's association to conduct procession. Therefore, challenging the same, the present petition is filed.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the place mentioned by the petitioner to conduct procession is an ear marked place which is connecting the Four Ways and therefore, permission cannot be granted.
4. Recording the submissions of the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this Writ Petition (Criminal) is dismissed.
5. However, the petitioner is at liberty to give a fresh representation to the respondents seeking permission to conduct procession in some other place and on receipt of such representation, the respondents are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders.
