2. Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned counsel for first respondents.

3. The sole contention raised on behalf of petitioner, who admittedly is the proprietor of the concerns, against whom prosecution for offence u/s.138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act is launched, is that the agent/mandate holder has acted without authority in that, the authority vested in him was withdrawn even prior to the issuance of cheques. At best, the contention is in the nature of a defence. The same will not entitle seeking quash of cases.

The Criminal Original Petitions shall stand dismissed. Connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. Courts below is directed to dispose of the cases within a period of four months from the date of receipt of this order. Sd/- Asst.Registrar (CS VI) /true copy/ Sub Asst. Registrar gm
