O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition challenging the order dated 02.07.2007 wherein the petitioner has been suspended. The case of the petitioner is that he was employed as Sanitary Inspector-cum- Commissioner (in-charge), Arni Municipality, Thiruvannamalai District. After 14 years of service, a criminal case in Crime No. 96 of 2007 under Section 420 IPC was registered against the petitioner and thereafter, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the petitioner approached this Court by filing Crl.O.P.No.15679 of 2007 and obtained an anticipatory bail. Subsequently, the petitioner was placed under suspension by the impugned order dated 02.07.2007. Challenging the suspension order, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

2. While entertaining this petition, this Court granted interim stay on 17.07.2007 and thereafter the stay was periodically extended. Now, almost 12 years have lapsed. Considering the passage of long time, this writ petition is closed as infructuous. However, the respondents are at liberty to proceed with the disciplinary action if initiated in the manner known to law. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
