The above Writ Petition is filed for the following reliefs:- "To quash order bearing Ref.TN/RO/AMB/PDC/204/68224/000 DEMAND NOTICE/7Q/2024, dated 09.06.2024 passed by the Respondent under Section 7Q of the Employees Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, directing the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.9,20,766/- in words is (Rupees Nine Lakh Twenty thousand seven hundred sixty six rupees only) for the period 01/2016 to 09/2022 as interest under Section 7Q of the EPF and MP Act, 1952."
2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned 2/5
counsel for the petitioner would submit that their only request would be that they be permitted to pay the above sum in installments and they had also undertaken to clear the amount due within 15 equated monthly installments.

Though the learned counsel for the respondent would vehemently oppose the same, however taking note of the fact that the inability of the petitioner to remit the dues on time was on account of the covid pandemic which had a cascading effect on the financial situation of the petitioner company, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the petitioner to pay the amount due under the impugned order in 15 equated monthly installments starting from July 2025. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 17.06.2025 (shr) Index : Yes/No Speaking Order: Yes/No To 3/5
