Writ Petition is filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to grant the pension to the petitioner for her service render in the 1st respondent department.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3.The case of the petitioner is that he employed as Junior Assistant from 1987 onwards in Government Dental College, Chennai-3 under the control of the Directorate of Medical Education and attained superannuation on 31.05.2014. Even after retirement, his retirement benefits were not settled. Therefore, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents on 25.04.2016. He has also issued a reminder on 14.06.2019. However, till date, the representation of the petitioner was not considered by the respondents. Hence, this writ petition.
4. Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the authorities have sanctioned a sum of Rs.4,74,585/- as provident fund and other retirement benefits will be paid to the petitioner within the time framed by this Court.
5. In view of the above submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, this Court hereby directs the respondents to settle the retirement benefits including pensionary benefit to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
