Respondents Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus calling for the records relating to the detention order passed by the second respondent pertaining to the order made in D.O.No.75/2021-C2 dated 08.09.2021 in detaining the detenu under 2(f) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982, as a Goonda and quash the same and direct the respondent to produce the detenu Pechimuthu s/o.Karupusamy, aged about 22 years, who is detained at Central Prison, Vellore, before this Court and set him at liberty. O R D E R
[Order of the Court was made by R.HEMALATHA, J] The petitioner is the mother of the detenu viz., Pechimuthu s/o.Karupusamy, aged about 22 years. The detenu has been detained by the second respondent by his order in D.O.No.75/2021-C2 dated 08.09.2021, holding him to be a "Goonda", as contemplated under Section 2(f) of Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. The said order is under challenge in this Habeas Corpus Petition.
2. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the detention order passed against the detenu in D.O.No.75/2021C2 dated 08.09.2021, on the file of the second respondent is revoked vide G.O.Rt.No.5070, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XI) Department, dated 28.10.2021 and produced a copy of the said order.
In view of the above, this petition is closed as it has become infructuous.
