The 2nd petitioner is the mother of the absconding accused Vinoth Kumar and the 1st petitioner is the close associate of the 2nd petitioner. A case in Crime No.169 of 2024, dated 28.06.2024 been registered against the said Vinoth Kumar for offences under Section 294(b), 323, 324, 307, 506(i) of I.P.C and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Women Harassment Act.

2. The said Vinoth Kumar is yet to be secured and his whereabouts is known to the petitioners herein, hence they were summoned by the police for enquiry. Alleging that they are repeatedly called to the police station and harassed, the present petition is filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent police not to harass.

3. On perusing the record and the submissions made by the Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent, this Court finds that there is no element of harassment as alleged. The petitioners were called for enquiry to know the whereabouts of the absconding accused/Vinoth Kumar, who is facing grave charge of attempt murder.

4. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent police that hereinafter if the petitioners are required for any enquiry, they may be summoned in accordance with law and thereafter to proceed.
