ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to expedite the investigation in Cr.No.147 of 2024 and file final report.

2. The petitioner is the mother of one Subramani. From 07.05.2024, her son Subramani is missing. Therefore, a complaint regarding 'man-missing' has been registered in Cr.No.147 of 2024 and the investigation is in progress.

3. Contending that the police is not stepping up the investigation to trace her missing son, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. The respondent police has filed a status report indicating that they are taking all efforts possible to trace the missing man and so far, they have examined 12 witnesses, besides verifying the CCTV footages near the petitioner's residence and collecting Call Detail Records (CDRs) of the petitioner's relatives, but, till date, they are clueless.

5. It is further stated that a special team headed by the Inspector of Police has been constituted to trace the missing man and as soon as they get any clue, they will inform the petitioner of the same. Recording the status report filed by the respondent police, this criminal original petition is closed with a direction to the respondent police to intensify the investigation, bearing in mind the fact that the missing man

had a misunderstanding with his wife and hence, leaving him, his wife has been living with her parents, which is discernible from a reading of the FIR.
