Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's application dated 18.04.2023 and reminder representation dated 27.06.2023 and thereby direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Permanent Administrator/Arankavalar of Arulmighu Pattalamman Temple situated at Velrampatti Village, Jagathap Post, Krishnagiri Taluk and District. O R D E R
The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to consider his application dated 18.04.2023 for appointment of Non-hereditary trustee of Arulmighu Pattalamman Temple situated at Velrampatti Village, Jagathap Post, Krishnagiri Taluk and District.
2. According to the petitioner, Arulmighu Pattalamman Temple situated at Velrampatti Village, Jagathap Post, Krishnagiri Taluk and District, 2/6
was constructed 110 years back. It is also stated by the petitioner that the grand father of the petitioner viz., Late Vedi Gounder administrated the temple as trustee for nearly 40 years and after his death, the father of the petitioner also administrated the temple. Now, due to age factor, the father of the petitioner is unable to look after the temple and hence, the petitioner has been taking care of the temple for the past 15 years. In these circumstances, the petitioner submitted an application on 18.04.2023 to the third respondent seeking to appoint him as Non-hereditary trustee of the temple.

Mr.K.Karthikeyan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 and on instruction submits that Non-hereditary trustee of the temple will be appointed based on the recommendation of the District Level Committee. As far as the District of Krishnagiri is concerned, the District Committee is formed only now and therefore, appointment of Nonhereditary trustee in the temple will take some time.
4. In view of the limited prayer made in this Writ Petition and also the submission made by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the third respondent 3/6
to process the application submitted by the petitioner and pass final orders, within a period of 16 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
