Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to expeditiously dispose the Appeal petition dated 28.03.2022 filed by the 5th respondent, in Form-Regular District-DRO-F-Appeal in (Hindu Religious and charitable Endowments Department) in respect of the lands measuring 5.39 acres (2.18 hectares) in S.No.523 and an extent of 1.69 acres(0.68.52 Hectares) in S.No.559, in Thasanapuram Village, Nagamangalam Majura, lying within the Registration Sub district of Nagamangalam, Thenkanikottai Taluk, Krishnagiri District.

The writ petitioner seeks a direction to the first respondent to expeditiously dispose the Appeal Petition dated 28.03.2022 filed by the 5th respondent in Form-Regular District-DRO-F-Appeal in (Hindu Religious and charitable Endowments Department) in respect of the lands measuring 5.39 acres (2.18 hectares) in S.No.523 and an extent of 1.69 acres(0.68.52 Hectares) in S.No.559, in Thasanapuram Village, Nagamangalam Majura, 2/6
Thenkanikottai Taluk, Krishnagiri District.
2.According to the petitioner, the land measuring 5.39 acres in S.No.523 and 1.69 acres in S.No.559 in Thasanapuram village was originally owned by grand mother of the petitioner Bellamma. The land was bequeathed by her for the purpose of maintenance and performance of Pooja at Arulmighu Mariamman Thirukoil, Thasanapuram, Nagamangalam Village. 3.Now the petitioner understand that the patta has been wrongly issued in favour of certain individuals. Therefore, he made a representation to the first respondent on 07.03.2022, seeking cancellation of patta issued in favour of third party individuals.
4.The 5th respondent on his part filed an appeal before the 1st respondent, seeking cancellation of patta. The appeal was filed by the 5th respondent in proper form on 28.03.2022. The main grievance of the writ petitioner is the appeal filed by the 5th respondent seeking cancellation of patta has not been considered by the Competent Authority, namely the 1st respondent herein.

5.Mrs.S.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 & 4. Mr.K.Karthikeyan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents 2, 3 and 5.
6.In view of the limited prayer made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the Appeal Petition filed by the 5th respondent on 28.3.2022 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of (8) eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7.With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
