This petition has been filed to issue a Non-traceable Certificate to the petitioner.

2. The petitioner made a complaint dated 17.05.2023 to the respondent police to issue a Non-traceable Certificate on the ground that the original Will dated 24.08.1962 was missing. It is also stated that this Will was a registered Will and it is registered as Document No.30 of 1962 in the office of Sub-Registrar, Puliampatti.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the complaint given by the petitioner will be considered in line with the circular issued by the Director General of Police. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner may be directed to produce the necessary documents before the respondent police in order to complete the enquiry and to give the Non-traceable certificate.

4. Learned counsel for petitioner submitted that already all the relevant documents have been produced before the first respondent. 2/4

5. In the considered view of this Court, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to attend the enquiry before the first respondent on 24.07.2023 along with all the necessary documents. The first respondent shall conduct the enquiry in line with the circular Memorandum dated 01.04.2022 issued by the Director General of Police. Ultimately, if the first respondent is satisfied after the enquiry, Non-traceable Certificate shall be issued to the petitioner. This process shall be completed by the first respondent within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
