Respondent Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to pass orders of demolition by granting appropriate permission on the basis of petitioner representation dated 24.05.2019 requesting demolition of the dilapidated, century old Building situated at old No.29, New No.69, Godown Street, Kothawalchavadi, George Town, Chennai 600 001, of the petitioner.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to take action on the representation made by the petitioner on 24.05.2019, wherein, the petitioner alleges that his property is in a very dilapidated condition and the same has to be demolished, failing which, it will cause a serious risk to the neighbors. 2.Heard Mr.C.V.Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.Karthia Ashok, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent.

3.Taking into consideration, the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief that has been sought for in this writ petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 24.05.2019 and take appropriate action in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order. The respondent before taking any action shall ensue that no one else is in possession of the property and a decision will be taken taking into consideration the status of the building. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the respondent along with a copy of the representation dated 24.05.2019 and a copy of this order. This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
