ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 4 (1) (A) and 4 (1) (C) of the Tamil Nadu

Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024, in Crime No.83 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that, the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 7 bottles of liquor (namely IMFL 180 ml Old chief - 5 bottles, Top Star Brandy - 1 bottle, 650 ml Kingfisher Beer - 1 bottle). Hence the case. 3.The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner is an innocent person and she has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not required. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police, while opposing the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, reiterated the prosecution case and on instructions submitted that the petitioner has seven previous cases. 5.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) for the respondent Police and perused the materials available on record.

6.Considering the nature of the offence and the fact that the petitioner has 7 previous cases pending, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
