ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to furnish the CCTV footages recorded on 06.03.2025.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that though he sought the CCTV footage recorded on 06.03.2025 under the Right to Information Act, he was informed that CCTV recordings are available only from 11.03.2025 to 29.04.2025 and that the footage of the requested date was not provided.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the CCTV system retains footage only for a period of 49 days, after which, it is automatically erased and hence, the requested footage is not available. 2/4

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, and in view of the submission that the CCTV footage of the alleged date is not available, this Court is of the opinion that no further direction can be issued in the matter.
