O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 06.10.2025 for grant of spare minibus permit.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is an existing Stage Carriage Operator having a mini bus bearing Registration No.TN-59-B-0250 operating on the route from "Velankanni Bus Stand to Kilvelur Railway Station" and the said permit is valid upto 19.06.2030. Since there is a every possibility of breakdown of the mini bus and also at the time of renewal of fitness certificate, the mini buses have to be stopped for inspection and also to provide transport facilities for special occasions, the petitioner by application dated 17.12.2019 applied for grant of spare bus permit. By an order dated 17.12.2019, the respondent granted the spare bus permit directing the petitioner to produce a vehicle with specifications within 90 days. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic, the petitioner could not comply with the directions of the respondent.

After the situation returned to normalcy, the petitioner required the spare mini bus permit for operating the vehicle. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to the respondent on 08.10.2025 requesting to grant of spare mini bus permit and also submitted an application on 06.10.

necessary fees. Since the representation has not yet been considered, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if the respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 06.10.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government counsel appearing for the respondent.

5. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 06.10.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
